During these complicated times, I felt a need to set up small still life tableaux with hand made objects from around the world. Beautiful things someone took care to make, to which I add natural objects, a shell, an egg, rock or flowers. I do not aim for photorealism, but rather a hand made quality that enables the viewer to sense my struggles and imperfect vision, yet enjoy the resulting harmony.
Throughout 2022 I will also be meeting with small groups of friends around the Museums on the Mall and beyond to develop a sketchbook about Washington today. Beginning and returning artists are both welcome .
In the summer I will be organising events at Serpentine Dance Studio and Gallery in Bethesda's Woodmont Triangle, an exciting new space promoting Women, Wellness and Art.

My experience as museum guide, teacher and student steer me towards a hands on, joyful, supportive and intense approach. I like to work with all the senses, especially touch. From the first, I suggest materials and approaches to surprise, challenge, and I hope, delight ... I encourage my students to think "big and broad", and to steal, shamelessly, from all the greats of art history.
